Record your name

NameDrop records your name in your own voice — not text-to-speech. That’s the whole point: people hear how you say your name, with your accent, intonation, and rhythm.

Option 1: Record in your browser

1. Log in to your NameDrop Dashboard.
2. Open the Record name section.
3. Click Record and say your name.
4. Click Yes once you’re happy with the take.

Tip

You may need to allow microphone access in your browser the first time you record. If nothing happens when you click Record, see Why can’t I record?.

Option 2: Upload an existing recording

If you already have an audio file (.webm or .mp3 only):

1. Go to your Dashboard.
2. In the Record name section, click the ⋮ menu, then Upload Audio.
3. Drag and drop your audio file, or pick it from your file browser.
4. Click Upload Audio.

Note

Uploads usually appear on your profile immediately, but can occasionally take a few minutes to finish processing.

Next steps

• Re-record or change your recording if you want a different take later.
• Download your recording if you need a local copy.
• Share your profile link once you’re happy with your recording.
