NameDrop is an LTI 1.3 tool that surfaces name pronunciations inside your LMS — on rosters, in user profiles, and as a focused “Record my name” surface for individual users.

These docs explain how a LMS administrator at your institution adds NameDrop to your LMS. End-users (students and instructors) don’t need to do anything — once installed, NameDrop appears wherever you’ve configured it.

  1. Sign in to your NameDrop dashboard at https://app.namedrop.io.
  2. Click Add LMS Integration.
  3. Pick your LMS from the list below. Each option includes a step-by-step setup wizard.

NameDrop ships two views. Your LMS placement decides which one renders:

  • Default view — welcome card with the user’s hero entry, plus the full course roster grid. Best for course pages where students see classmates.
  • Record-my-name view — just the user’s hero card (orange initials circle + button). No roster. Best for personal-toolbar placements where the goal is “record your name” without distraction.

To switch a placement to the record-my-name view, set a custom parameter view=record-my-name on that placement. The default view requires no parameter.
